Call for Conference Proposals
Our English Language Arts (ELA) classrooms often provide a space for meaningful inquiry into the world around us. The theme, Take Me Outside, encourages us to get outside–as well as outside the box. We invite you to explore this theme, considering its many facets.
We invite all English educators, whether they be tenderfoot to the seasoned guide, to share their expertise, insights, and innovations in response to this theme. Let’s take ELA learning outside–precisely and imaginatively.
To spark inspiration, here are some potential angles for your submissions:
- Outdoor Literacy Practices
- Community-Based Learning
- Social Justice in the ELA Classroom
- Multilingualism and Translanguaging
- Environmental Sustainability and ELA
- Teachers Work Outside of Curriculum
- Teacher wellness
- And???
Sessions may be led by individuals or groups and will be 60 minutes in length. We seek interactive presentations; we want to learn from what you have been doing. Sessions may be formatted in many ways: workshop, panel discussions, roundtables, experiential, practical, and theoretical. How may we expand the boundaries of ELA teaching? Whether you work with K-12 students, pre-service teachers, or higher education, we welcome contributions that showcase creative approaches to the theme.
Please submit your proposal no later than midnight on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Let’s grow together! We welcome your proposal.
Proposals will only be accepted electronically. Please complete the form below.
